About Soul Care Studio

Care that considers the whole person

Many people need support but don’t need, or aren’t ready for, therapy. Others can’t easily find care that welcomes their faith, their schedule, or their budget. Soul Care Studio exists to help close that gap through community care: groups, workshops, retreats, and spiritual direction that tend body, mind, and spirit.

Why “Soul Care Studio”?

Our name reflects both what we believe and how we hope people experience our community.

Soul Care

To us, soul care is more than self-care. It is the intentional practice of tending to the whole person.

We believe that our wellbeing is deeply interconnected. That our minds, bodies, and spirits continually influence one another. Lasting growth doesn't happen by caring for just one part of ourselves; it happens when we create space to nurture every part of who we are.

Whether through education, movement, creativity, reflection, meaningful conversation, or spiritual practices, we invite people into experiences that cultivate greater awareness, resilience, connection, and wholeness.

Studio

A studio is more than a building. It's a place where people come to learn, practice, create, and be shaped.

Artists, musicians, dancers, and makers enter a studio with curiosity and intention. They experiment, develop new skills, discover new perspectives, and leave changed by the process.

We believe personal growth happens much the same way.

Soul Care Studio is a space where individuals and communities can pause, explore, practice new ways of living, and be gently formed through shared experiences. We don't believe transformation happens all at once—it unfolds over time through intentional practices, supportive relationships, and a willingness to keep showing up.

Our hope is that every person who walks through our doors leaves with something meaningful: greater peace, deeper connection, practical tools for wellbeing, renewed hope, and a stronger sense of purpose.

Because transformation isn't about becoming someone else. It's about becoming more fully who you were created to be.

Our Story

Soul Care Studio began with a simple idea: care for the whole person should be accessible, relational, and not limited to a clinical setting. Danielle Hughes is a licensed clinical mental health counselor, registered yoga teacher, and trained spiritual director who has spent years walking with people through stress, loss, and change. Seeing how many people, especially those who serve others, go without support, she founded Soul Care Studio as a nonprofit offering care in community. A sister organization to her counseling practice, Cultivate Charlotte, the two organizations share a common goal to see people grow, heal, and thrive.

Our Mission Is..

To nurture and strengthen the mind, body, and spirit through intentional spaces where individuals and communities can rest, reflect, and grow.

What We Believe

  • Care belongs to everyone. Rest and support shouldn’t depend on income or titles.

  • People are more than their problems. We pay attention to body, mind, and spirit.

  • Those who serve need care too. Pastors, staff, and volunteers often give the most and receive the least.

  • Faith can be part of healing. We welcome it without pressure.

Our Relationship with Cultivate Charlotte

Soul Care Studio is the nonprofit sister organization of Cultivate Charlotte, a counseling practice in Charlotte, NC. The two organizations are separate and share a mission: Cultivate Charlotte provides clinical mental health counseling, and Soul Care Studio offers community care beyond the counseling office. Offerings at Soul Care Studio are supportive and educational, and they are not a substitute for therapy. If you’re looking for counseling, we’re glad to point you toward Cultivate Charlotte.
